OUR STORY
In 1980, a young Alan Paradis moved to San Antonio to begin a long and successful professional career. On weekends, he’d escape to the rugged hills of the Texas Hill Country, drawn to its limestone-rich soil, wild terrain, and sense of possibility. The seed was planted early, even if it would take decades to bloom.
Years later, as Alan prepared to transition out of his traditional career, he wasn’t looking for retirement. He wanted a challenge. One that would stretch his abilities, draw from a lifetime of experience, and result in something lasting. That challenge arrived in the form of 90 acres between San Marcos and Wimberley, a former Texas hunting ranch, long abandoned, thick with cedar and brush, and full of untapped potential.
From the first rock cleared to the first vine planted, Paradis has been a hands-on transformation. Over the past ten years, every element has been built from the ground up: the vineyard rows, the winemaking facility, the tasting room, and the peaceful grounds that surround it. Every detail has been shaped with intention, care, and a belief that something beautiful can grow where others only saw wild land.
OUR VISION
Paradis Vineyard & Winery is more than a second act, it’s a full-circle pursuit of self-sufficiency, sustainability, and soul. Alan’s goal wasn’t just to make good wine, but to create a vertically integrated estate where everything happens on-site: from earth to vine to glass.
This isn’t a Napa replica or a corporate wine machine. It’s a personal estate built to serve its local community with purpose and pride. Paradis is designed to be peaceful, approachable, and quietly bold, a place where guests can step out of the noise and into a slower rhythm, surrounded by vines, birdsong, and meaningful craft.
THE LAND
Set between San Marcos and Wimberley on the edge of Ranch Road 12, Paradis sits in one of the most scenic pockets of the Texas Hill Country. The land is rich in limestone and elevation changes, ideal for cultivating grapes with structure and expression.
We’ve embraced the natural character of the site, planting varietals that suit its rocky soils and warm climate. Every vine is estate-tended. Every harvest is rooted in place and every bottle is a direct reflection of this land’s story, wild, weathered, and worthy of attention.

MILES ELSEY
WINEMAKER
Raised in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Wimberley, Miles Elsey has spent the last 15 years immersed in the Texas wine industry, building a reputation for thoughtful, terroir-driven winemaking. As co-manager of vineyard operations and head winemaker at Paradis Vineyard & Winery, he oversees every step of the process, hand-crafting small-lot, 100% estate-grown wines from vines nurtured on our property. With sustainable farming, precise hand-harvesting, and minimal-intervention techniques, Miles enables the unique character of the Hill Country shine through every authentic bottle of wine.
